Refund, Cancellation & Membership Policies

  • Arrival time is 15 minutes before class and check in closes 2 minutes prior to the start of class, regardless of online booking. We do not allow late entry to any classes or workshops for safety reasons. No exceptions will be made. If you have booked online and arrive after check in closes, you forfeit your spot. 

  • Bookings to be made via the ALILA APP (download from your app store) www.alilayoga.co.za

  • Cancellations are only accepted to 4 hours prior to the start of class to cancel, thereafter the class will be deducted from your account.

  • Workshops & Retreats: You must cancel 24 hours or more in advance to receive a refund. If you late-cancel less than 24 hours before class starts, your workshop credit will still be deducted from your account.

  • Refunds are not offered on any drop in classes, class pass packages, unlimited memberships, workshops or apparel and merchandise. All Class Packages, Unlimited Memberships, and Workshops are non-transferable to another client. All class credits must be used by the original purchasing client.

  • Extensions are not offered on drop in classes, class pass packages, unlimited memberships.

  • MEMBERSHIPS (Applicable to ALL ACCESS Monthly Membership clients)
    Memberships are billed on a recurring monthly basis with a 1-month minimum commitment. Unless you terminate or suspend your membership, billing will continue automatically on a monthly basis for up to twelve consecutive months. After the first billing cycle, you may request to suspend (pause) your membership at any time, allowing you to reactivate it at your convenience. Full cancellation of the membership may be requested after the first billing cycle, provided that at least 7 days’ notice is given. Please note that the month in which cancellation notice is given will still be billed. The membership is activated once payment has been made and classes or services are booked. From the point of activation, no refunds (full or partial) will be issued.

Welcome to Alila Yoga, a trading name of Amara Studios.

By accessing this website, booking classes, purchasing memberships or packages, attending workshops, or using our facilities, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use our Services.

1. Legal Entity

Alila Yoga is the trading name of Amara Studios, the registered business entity operating at:

All references to “Alila Yoga,” “the Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to Amara Studios, including its owners, directors, employees, instructors, contractors, and agents.

All contracts, bookings, and payments are legally entered into with Amara Studios.

2. Definitions

“Studio” refers to Alila Yoga, the trading name of Amara Studios.
“Services” refers to all yoga classes, workshops, events, sauna use, cold plunge use, and wellness-related offerings.
“Client” refers to any individual booking, attending, or participating in the Services.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By:

  • Booking or attending a class

  • Purchasing a membership or package

  • Using sauna or cold plunge facilities

  • Accessing this website

You confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

4. Services Provided

The Studio offers:

  • In-person yoga classes

  • Workshops and events

  • Access to sauna and cold plunge facilities

  • Wellness-related services

All Services are subject to availability and may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled at management’s discretion.

The Studio reserves the right to refuse service to any person for misconduct, unsafe behaviour, or breach of these Terms.

5. Bookings and Payments

All payments are processed securely via Paystack, a third-party payment processor.

  • Payments are made in South African Rand (ZAR).

  • Accepted payment methods are displayed at checkout.

  • By making payment, you confirm you are authorised to use the selected payment method.

The Studio does not store credit or debit card details.

Bookings are confirmed only once payment has been successfully received.

6. Refund and Cancellation Policy

6.1 General Policy

All purchases of:

  • Single classes

  • Class packages

  • Memberships

  • Workshops

  • Events

  • Sauna and cold plunge access

are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or approved in writing by management.

6.2 Approved Refunds

Refunds may be considered under reasonable circumstances, including:

  • Verified medical conditions preventing participation

  • Cancellation of a class or event by the Studio

  • Unforeseen exceptional circumstances

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

If approved, refunds will be processed via Paystack and may take up to 7 business days to reflect.

Refund approval remains at the sole discretion of management, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

7. Assumption of Risk

The Client acknowledges that:

  • Yoga involves physical exertion and inherent risk of injury.

  • Inversions, arm balances, and advanced postures carry increased risk.

  • Sauna use may cause dehydration, dizziness, burns, fainting, or cardiovascular strain.

  • Cold plunge exposure may cause shock, hyperventilation, dizziness, or cardiovascular complications.

  • Wet areas increase the risk of slipping or falling.

The Client voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in the Services.

8. Medical Declaration

By participating, the Client confirms that:

  • They are physically fit to participate.

  • They do not suffer from any condition that would prevent safe participation.

  • They will inform instructors of any injuries, pregnancy, medical conditions, or limitations prior to class.

  • They understand instructors are not medical professionals.

Clients are advised to consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new exercise or wellness programme.

9. Waiver and Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

The Client hereby waives, releases, and discharges Amara Studios (trading as Alila Yoga) from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, or causes of action arising from participation in the Services, including injury, loss, or damage.

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Amara Studios from any claims, damages, legal costs, or expenses arising from:

  • Their participation in the Services

  • Their negligence or misconduct

  • Any third-party claims arising from their actions

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for gross negligence or any liability that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Studio shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings

  • Technical failures in payment processing

  • Delays or disruptions caused by third parties

Clients bring personal belongings onto the premises at their own risk.

11. Code of Conduct

Clients agree to:

  • Arrive on time for classes

  • Follow instructor guidance

  • Use sauna and cold plunge facilities responsibly

  • Maintain respectful and safe behaviour

The Studio reserves the right to remove any Client engaging in unsafe or inappropriate conduct without refund.

12. Health and Safety Compliance

Clients must comply with:

  • Posted safety rules

  • Instructor instructions

  • Sauna and cold plunge usage guidelines

Failure to follow safety rules may result in removal from the premises.

13. Emergency Medical Consent

In the event of injury or medical emergency, the Client consents to receive emergency medical treatment. The Client accepts responsibility for any associated medical costs.

14. Privacy and Data Protection

The Studio collects and processes personal information for:

  • Managing bookings and memberships

  • Processing payments

  • Communicating with Clients

Payment information is processed securely via Paystack. The Studio does not store card details.

Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable South African data protection legislation.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

16. Amendments

The Studio reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes become effective upon publication on the website.

Continued use of Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
